Windows Sidebar replacement program for Windows 8

I just got a Windows 8 Ultrabook and I was wondering what a good replacement is for the Windows sidebar that was removed in the RTM version of 8

I have a couple of gadgets that I really like and I was wondering what a suggestible replacement would be?

I have a gadget that goes along with my CyberPower UPS, CoreTemp, Crystal Disk info, and others

I thought I remembered a way of taking the gadgets from Win7 and putting them in Win8, but I can't find anything atm. Here's a search...

I'm giving you that so it's on you if your computer gets infested with malware :^D

8GadgetPack gets mentioned a lot, so that might be the way to go. I'd prefer using genuine MS software though, so poke around and see if you can put the Win7 stuff back in.

I'd also prefer using genuine MS software any other alternatives?
Anyone use Rainmeter?
