Ok I could really use some help on a new build I did this past weekend. First let me list what comps I used
E7200
Samsung 500gb sata hd
ATI 3650
Gigabyte EP35 mb
Crucial ballistix 2gb (2X1gb)
Sonata 3 w/500earthwatts
Asus lightscribe dvd/cd
Ok now that that's out of the way, after I installed windows xp w service pack 2, I installed all the drivers for the above then downloaded and installed all the windows updates from the windowsupdate site. Installed office 2003, printer, and some other random stuff like spybot remover and quicktime/itunes etc. Everything was working fine, I noticed no problems whatsoever until late that night when I went to shutdown the computer. EVERY time you hit shutdown or hybernate, the computer just reboots itself.
I did a few google searches and I made sure that the restart on failure is turned OFF, and I went into the bios and changed the wake on lan settings to turn them all off. I also went into the settings for the lan card and turned that off as well just to be sure. I then unplugged all the external devices except the keyboard and monitor and tried that, and it still restarts on shutdown.
Anyone have any suggestions please? This is really annoying that I have to shut it down by holding in the power button, I also don't know if that's safe or not.
