Do you like a certain GUI from a previous Windows release? I am not talking about the Operating System, but just the Graphical User Interface. I know some baby boomers that still swear by Win 3.1's GUI. Alot of people are confused by XP, having learned to navigate Win 95. When Win 98 came out alot of Win 95 users were like WTF!?! Some people swear by Win 2k's GUI. When I say "Windows" I don't just mean Microsoft products. We also have Gnome, KDE, etc...

With Microsoft likely to separate the GUI from the O/S we may see an explosion of new looks on the horizon. Which one do you prefer?

I like the 95/98 look. IMO XP, Me, 98, and 95 are really essentially the same with minor changes. The reason I didn't pick XP is because I hate the new Start Menu, and I hate the rounded look. I like the plain gray rectangles. I guess NT and 2000 have those too... sigh

What, no OS/2 and OS/2 Warp?

probably Win2k. KDE3 is looking good though too.

personally, I can barely tell the difference in the GUI between 95/98/NT4/2K. just little things; 2k seems more "cleaned up" though.

I dont really like the XP look though, makes me feel like an AOL user ;):D

You do realize that you can change back to classic start menue and look REALLY easily? Plus, XP is skinable, and some of the skins are quite good.

I have a slight preference of Windows XP over 2000 professional but they're both about even.
