Hello. I just installed a new motherboard and would like to re-install windows so my drivers are cleaned up and whatnot.
I have two hard drives. Drive C is a 120 GB that I use for files. Drive D is a 13 gb that I use for windows and programs.
So I go into setup, tell it I want to install to D, and it says, drive C has an unrecognized file system, and must be formatted before setup can continue.
I'm like, what the heck. Windows is telling me right now the drive is NTFS, I can use my files off of it just fine. I want to install to D, so why doesn't it just ignore C anyways.
I canceled the install since obviously I don't want to lose 120 gigs of music/games/movies/etc.
Anyone have any ideas what is happening here? Tomorrow I will probably just unplug the 120 drive, do the install, and plug it back in, but wondered if you guys had any ideas.
