Windows services for laptop - Which ones can go?

I was wondering which services I can disable that will help my laptop to conserve power, and prefeably run at a lower speed more of the time. I have a Dell D400 and(Centrino business laptop) recently it seems to be getting rather poor battery life, less than what it did 6 months ago. About an hour and a half less with everything turned down.

If this thread isn't apropriate for general hardware, can the mods move it somewhere where it's more apropriate? Thank you.

I'm constructing a desktop solely for note taking with just the bare bones. Don't need internet, sound, or anything that would take up cycles not critical to open office.

Should I provde a list of services i'm running?
