Doing a little investigating on a possible purchase for the office here and I am kinda lost with all the server stuff......but I need to learn.

We have a 2008 R2 Domain Controller/File Server/Print Server with 10 CALS. We may want to add a new server with Remote Desktop Services for a couple remote users.

So I am trying to figure out what we would need to purchase.

Do I need these?

both, but it would likely be easier to manage user based licensing in your scenario, not device. Also, not a lenovo version unless that it what hardware you're using....
