Windows server 2003 not showing all the ram...

I bought a dell server opened the case to confirm everything and checked the Startup diagnostic screen to confirm the ram and cpu speeds. But when running WS2003 it only shows 256mb of 2gb. any clues?

Somebody else a while back pointed out that Dells have a "OS Install" switch in the BIOS that lies to the OS you are installing and tells it there's only 256 MB of memory. Check for that setting in BIOS. It's not needed for any "modern" OS.
