My current system has AVAST 5.1.889 installed.
MSCONFIG does show Windows Defender STOPPED.
A search of Windows Security Essentials on C: finds 3 Folders of that name. 2 are dated 8/24/2010 and 1 in
1/25/2011 when it tried to do an update and failed. I can't find it running on the system. I looked in PROGRAMS AND FEATURES-No entry. I also looked in REVO Uninstaller and No entry. The 1/25/2011 entry my also have been an effort to Re-Install it.
How can I clean up Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender? I am willing to replace AVAST with WSE and WD if needed. I also use CCLEANER and MalwareBytes and WinPatrol.
