Windows saying I'm installing something.. WHEN I'M NOT!

Windows say I can only install one device at a time, even though nothing is open that is an installer dialog. This on Windows 2000 SP4, attempted to install something via nVidia driver installer and Add/Remove Hardware shortcut in the Control Panel. Please help, 16 colors @ 800x600 sucks :/
 
The installation is probably hanging somewhere, and is either manually or automatically being tried again.

Look in EVENT VIEWER and see if anything comes up, and what the process is.

Might be you just need to disable the installer from starting up in the first place, then clean your drivers, then reinstall vga.
