I have a problem, randomly as I install stuff and Windows detects anything it restarts. I just built this system containing:

p4c-800e deluxe
3.2
Raptor -Raw format
ATA100-already had OS but I deleted it to make it just a file HD(restarts with this in and out)
TDK Burner
DVD 16x
9800pro 4.11 drivers
Audigy.
PSU raidmax 420
RAM: corsair value select 3200 2.5
The restarts are generally random. What could this be?

Just for kicks i would remove that Audigy card and see if the problem continues. The Audigy may sound pretty good but was causing my PC all kinds of issues until i removed it and used onboard audio.

Also, what exact model of RAM are you using, what voltage are you giving it, and what brand & model of power supply is running the show there?

For me, random restart occured either when:
a.) CPU needed more voltage
b.) Memory failed memtest. - more voltage, or bad stick.
c.) PSU 12V rail was too shaky

It could be literally anything, so run memtest86+, benchmarks, etc...

Raidmax = junk, please do yourself a favor and replace it. Chances are good that your problems will clear up after that.

word. and also raise the memory voltage to 2.6 to 2.7 volts if it gives you any more issues, since a little extra voltage can help sometimes.

That's exactly what I figured, everytime I was doing heavy installing when using both cd-rom and Raptor it would reset at random times. Thermaltake 420 it is!!

I believe my restarting problems could be attributed to the Raptor. My WD diagnostic S.M.A.R.T test failed and it could be so fast that it just doesnt comply with the PSU. CHKDSK reported errors, I've fixed those but that made more errors. I'll try to RMA it via advanced RMA on WD.
