Windows Repair Utility

Using the Windows XP CD to do a repair on a partition on a hard drive. I forgot to uninstall all of the service pack updates that were on the system before using the utility. I have a XP SP1 and SP2 disk, but it seems that it does not want to take either of those. Is there anyway to reverse the repair utility? Or a way to get around the problem?

Error:

The signature for windows xp home edition is invalid. The error code is 426.

Setup failed to install product catalogs....

Sometimes, XP simply refuses to repair itself...
