windows registry error

new install,new system,after installing win98se everything seems ok then after installing 4in1 drivers system restarts to the desktop and i get there error message(( windows encountered an error accessing the registry windows will restart and replace the system registry for you)) when i hit ok to restart i get the same message over and over.tried reformating and reinstaling,same thing.tried sys c: and a few other things.

Why are you installing the 4 in 1 drivers if everything was OK?

You should only update the driver if you are experiencing difficulities.
 
are you not supposed to install chipset drivers on new setup from motherboard CD?i shut of registry checker for now so i don't have that error message alwayes poping up.
