Windows RDP with mic

I am trying to get my mic to work through RDP. Both machines are windows 10 machines. I have enabled record from this computer on the client side. I can see the mic listed as remote audio and it has the green check on it in recording tab of the sound dialog box in my RDP session. The only problem is when I speak I don't see the little green bar go up down. Which tells me that it isn't working. How can I get it to work?

The mic uses a standard 8mm headphone jack. Nothing fancy like usb.

Were you looking for the activity on the local system or the remote system? Make sure the local system is detecting you first. Might be muted there or something.

Local system works. It is the remote system in RDP where I don't see the green bar move any.
