Hey, are there any other programs out there (for Windows, I use W2K pro) that can unpack RARs besides WinAce?

another vote for winRAR. It should be included with all windows machines. The PAR parity files also are amazing.

Thanks for the responses! I only need to unpack infrequently, & don't want to spend the $ for WinRAR, so I'm downloading UltimateZip as we speak. If needs (as well as cashflow, ha!) change, I'll check out WinRAR as well...

Again, thanks for the help!

FYI you dot have to buy winRAR to use it. IIRC maybe I'm wrong but its nagware (as in please send us money!) not a locked demo. In fact you never even see the nags because most of the time you just use the right click shortcut menu. I have been using mine for a while and it hasn't bothered me. I'm probably going to send them money though just because I use the thing every day and it kicks butt.

I use winrar everyday with the nagware and never have a prob with it. zips/unzips/rar/unrar no prob esp when it comes to the right click menus. Only time i ever see the nag screen is when u actually open an archive up...

ALZip handles all the common compression formats AND it lets you decompress self-extracting executables via the context menu. Most freeware extractors have problems with that.
