windows protection error...help please

my friend's computer doesn't load in normal, after a while it goes black and then it says windows protection error, must reset...

this happens when its almost done loading windows but still shows the logo...
i was able to go into safe mode no problem so i know its a driver/software problem but i can't figure out, then checking bootlog everything is fine until it starts to load the fonts!!! and it says load failed.... error code 0016

my friend claims to have done nothing the previous days before this happened...

Try going in under safe mode and delete any fonts that are 0 bytes in size.

You may want to do a step by step load next time to see where it is hanging
