I have been having problems getting into Windows XP recently.
When I get to the blue screen to put in my pasword, the system starts to beep, repeatedly. I can't if there is some sort of pattern (i.e number of beeps) to it. At other times the cursor at the password box does not blink. I can put in the password and wait and eventually the blackdots signifying the pasword will show up and then it goes thru to my desktop and everything works fine once I am in.
My system is an AMD 2400+ ( on a PC chips motherboard; the 2400+ is at the extreme end of the board's capabilities)
512mg RAM
Windows xp pro with service pack 2
Radeon 8500 video card
Lite on CD/RW
Plextor 2500 DVD/RW
BTW every so often as the computer boots to the opening screen it lists the processor as "1800+". I go into setup and it reads "2400+" after saving and exiting it reboots to the proper 2400+ reading
Any help out there? Is this a windows problem or an overall system problem?
Thanx
