to add,I switched the hd to my normal IDE drive and it all works fine(I am using it right now..) so it must have something to do with the sata hardrive

We need a little bit more background.

1. Where are you seeing this "black screen"? Immediately after it posts? Does it post at all? While Windows is loading?
2. If you are getting to the Windows screen, does your BIOS properly detect your hard drive?
3. Is this a brand new system/OS install? Was it working before and something changed?

I don't get it. You switched hard drives (what, removed the original?) and expected windows to boot as normal? Can you expand on this post?
