So given that carries are so intent on killing unlimited data, I'm not sure how I feel about advertisers being able to push content at will. Yes, I heard it's opt out, but I can already see this abusing people regularly.

It was at the 'International ADVERTISING Festival'. What do you really expect them to say to their target audience..

Microsoft Mobile has the arrogance of Apple but without any of the reasons to be arrogant.

WP7 phones could kick you in the balls on startup and I'd still buy one. I can't wait.

I don't understand people who pre-order or buy new products without seeing them. Palm Pre anyone?

Yeah, but so many people were so hyped over the Pre (just look at the posts here) and it turned out to be meh.

Well yes but the OS is great and better than pretty much every OS out there. The hardware is what made it suck.

i agree, even with the opt out it sounds like they can force an update notification, even if it is just for a new ad message.

At the 7:50 mark, Mallios takes a picture of Mathews and himself and says: "And what I love about this: zero-step sharing. This has already gone on my SkyDrive and is being shared with my friends." Windows Phone 7 requires a Windows Live account, so it's not too surprising that Microsoft has decided to take advantage of its Web services in such a streamlined way.

this worries me as well. i dont share but a very small percentage of the pics i take with my phone. i wonder if that setting is lockable or if its all built into the whole windows live account thing.

i do like the look of that phone tho, hehe.

I like the UI, but I feel there will be similar problems as with Apple... That being restrictions and whatnot from the closed system. Microsoft looks to position themselves in the middle of the "openness spectrum" with Google being wide open and Apple being locked up tight. Ex. Microsoft won't allow you to skin the operating system to keep a unified user experience, but I foresee them allowing alternative Browsers or Text apps (complete speculation on my part at this point).

I know Mozilla said they wouldn't develop a browser until MS releases an NDK, however I'm not sure how necessary that is. I'm never a fan of the platform developer having access to private API or functionality that third party developers don't have though.

If the UI is as smooth as the Zune HD they could have a great product though. It's just a matter of if it's too little too late, but if the Xbox has shown us anything, it's that MS is willing to buy it's way (back) into a market.
