I Googled this and couldn't find any info on it. I'm about to starting looking for a new phone, and one of the main features I want is full screen caller id pic support. Android has it with apps from the market, but I've bought both and they're not really that good. I know iPhone has this built in, but I'm curious about WP7, I really like the Nokia Lumia 900 so if it has this feature, or there's a decent app in the windows marketplace it'd probably be my next phone.

Android 4.0 has it by default now which is good. Little tiny pics sucked

It does? I installed a ICS rom on my EVO and it was like 1/2 the screen with big ass green bars at the top & bottom which made it hard to see the pic still. Maybe the rom I was using had a modded apk though. I'll have to look at the offical ICS build to see what it offers. If it's the same as the rom I used, it's a definitely improvement but still not full screen.

Damn that looks clean, I'm kind of sad that I read the white 900 will be glossy instead of matte. But small things like how the the caller id screen looks makes me really interested in WP7

The only thing I can knock about the WP7 phone aspect is that in the call log, it does not display call length. Kinda odd.

This is the biggest pet peeve of mine. On iOS, it'll shrink the photo if you sync your contacts to services like gmail or iCloud. Android does the same damn thing. I'm not sure if these issues are fixed yet as I spent hours trying to figure out a work around awhile back.

I don't know about in ICS, but 2 years ago I was going back and forth with an Android team dude complaining about how I'd put a high res photo for a contact and it would sync it online and make it low resolution and utterly crappy looking. I was told they didn't consider it a bug and because of that don't look for it to be fixed. I ended up disabling contact syncing and using a $5 app to accomplish it.

That seems to be the attitude over at Google too. The issue was brought up in their queue and its years old with no update. I don't think Google plans to fix this issue with their gmail contacts sync.

Mac address sync seemed to work in the past, but with the recent addition of iCloud, I think it broke it and now shrinks it.

lol yes people have brought this up and been complaining for years. it looks especially bad when the contact id shows up on the high resolution GNexus. pixelated blob lol.

The problem with matte white anything is that it tends to yellow over time from oils. Even with a glossy finish, this can still happen (see older white plastic MacBooks).

If you do get the Lumia 900, go with cyan. After having my black one for a week, it's just too boring for me, so I'll be exchanging it.

I never really had a problem with the glossy plastic on my old MacBook discoloring, it was only the matte, more grey plastic on the palmrest that had the problem.

But, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser solves the problem lickety split.

All that said, if I get the Lumia, it is either the white or the black, whichever is matte and available.
