Windows password

I ahve palced a password so ppl wont use my PC but they can jsut click cancel and windows will jsut load up.How can i set it so that you HAVE TO place password inorder to run windows?

Put a password in the bios if you can. That way people can't even get to Windows.

Run Windows 2000.

Seriously.

If you want to protect the machine, Windows 98 is NOT going to do it. Use NT4 or W2K or WinXP.

Get another program that locks the desktop until a password is given. I used to have one, it think it was called "desktop Sheild", and if im not mistaken, that windows password is only for logging into the network, so if you click cancel, all that happens if you dont log in.

A simple registry modification is all that's needed to prevent users from bypassing the Window 9x login password. It's not failsafe however, users that know what they're doing can still bypass or delete the password in SafeMode or DOS.
