Hi guys,
A close friend of my bro has unexpectedly passed away abroad and his family wants him(my bro) to sort out his affairs out there. He's emailed me to say that he's tried to access the decease's pc but it has a windows password and no one seems to know what it is. He also doesn't know what flavor of windows the pc is running.

Is there any simple help available to clear or bypass the password bearing in mind that my bro uses a mac and not a pc?

There are several freeware available on line.
Using Google key words such as windows password recovery will do the trick.

There could be 2 ways.

1) boot the computer into safe mode, hit F8 before windows loads, and see if you can go into the administrator profile and you can remove the password that way

2) Offline NT Password and Registry Editor --- works but is is more technical depending on how comfortable he is working on a computer
