Ok, heres the deal. I have a laptop that had Win XP Home SP1 installed on it, and 1 account, with a password. It was my account, and I know the password.
however, the laptop bit the dust (7 months in Iraq with the Marines) The drive works fine, I bought a cheap enclosure and installed the drive in the enclosure, and can access it. The drive still is formatted as a Win XP SP1 NTFS boot drive, with a full install of windows on it.
Problem is that I can not access the My Documents folder where all my data is. I can see it, and double click on it, but I get the popup window that says "You are do not have access"blah blah blah...
So, how do I get into that folder? I know the password, and I know my log in, is there anyway to get access to the folder? Maybe I can boot from it? Can you boot from USB? Then, if I do, I don't think I would have access to the rest of the drives on my system to transfer the files to (the other drive is a RAID array and would need drivers, I would think)
As a note, the files are not encrypted.
Thanks for any help
Dave
