Hi All, I had a virus and was able to remove it all. The virus was a deborm32 worm and created afile called winlonon .exe and put it in the winnt directory. Now when ever I boot, I get a error message that says

" Cannot find the file 'C:\WINNT\WINLOGON .EXE' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available."

Anyone kwow where I can delete this part of the boot up? It comes up after I have signed in. Thanks in advance all.

Check in the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Thanks, it was in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Do you know where program would be, The error is something like c:\program could not be found. Also when booting up. There has never been a c:\program directory, theres a program files. Any ideas on this one? Thanks a million

If you were getting that error, your antivirus has already removed it. As with any infection you'll want to go check Symantec or someone for the writeup on the virus just in case there is something else that needs done.
