Windows Notebook to support CAC (vs Mac support!)

Greetings. I'm a neophyte with computers, but a govt employee who needs portable access to files via that blasted CAC reader. I cannot find the support needed to enable the CAC programs on my Macbook, so I am thinking about getting a netbook option essentially for on-the-road email and all Windows-based CAC needs.

I was told at some point that netbooks do not have the memory to permit CACs to run, but I don't see why it should be an issue if I just plug it into the USB port.

Are there any netbooks now that do support external CAC with their memory capabilities?

Or is there any chance of someone knowing how to actually do it on a Mac?
