is your 160gb a new hdd? start the process for making a new partition, just dont go all the way through it. Just up to the point it let you adjust the amount for the partition. And see how much space it'll let you make for that partition.
No, it;s not new. Transferred from my dell into new case. Has a LOT of files on it that are irreplacable! This drive shows up under device manager, but not under my computer.
Ok... give us more details of the scenerio; you said you transferred it from another computer;
Ok.. was the drive, the boot drive of that old computer? Or was it a storage drive?
What type of file system was the drive formatted as, in the previous system. Hopefully, it is NTFS.
What is the operating system on the computer that you are transferring the drive to?
As others have stated, you need to go to "Computer Management" (Windows XP, right click on "My Computer", then -> "Manage")
Then, go to "Disk Management". You'll see the drive there.
