Windows not booting after changing CAS

Bought another stick of 512mb RAM corsair value pc3200 RAM and put it in. everything worked fine, went into bios and tried to drop the CAS down to 2, windows (XP Pro SP2) wouldn't boot so i bumped it back up to 2.5 still not booting. tried 3 still not booting. Running a dual boot system w/ Linux on a seperate hard drive and it boots fine. Any suggestions?
