Windows networking through router

I'm using a Linksys wireless access point router to allow me to run my own small network and take advantage of my university's internet connection. Is there any way to configure the router such that I can use Windows file and print sharing services through it? I've experimented with port forwarding, but I'm not having much luck. I should probably also mention that the print services I'd like to use require a machine's domain membership.

Well, he's on a campus network, one has to assume they're already protecting themselves against most outside threats. 🙂 Besides, he can install a software firewall to solve that problem if it exists. 🙂

ya right. most universities protect THEMSELVES. 🙂

but you are right. DMZ will work ,jsut remeber that any data on the DMZ will not be as secure as the rest of your 'network'.

of course since you are on campus you dont need the router most likely. you could just use a hub to attach the computers, unless of course you want the wireless aspect. in that case i ask ,why youneed to be wireless? how big are these dorms now adays?
