I Googled this and am confused why I can't find anything, to help me with this. I have a Q9c freshly flashed to WM6.1 When I get a text message it takes focus and auto opens it. I don't want them to open unless I tell it to, I went thru the settings pretty well and I'm not seeing anything, if this is normal for WM6 phones I would assume Google would have tons of people asking how to turn it off. So I'm wondering if it's just me.

Do you mean that the minute you get a text message it moves you into the threaded message view? I have the exact same phone and it's never done that. When I get a text it shows a preview if I move the focus over the texts section of the messaging bar / tab / whatever, but it never forces me out of an application to view a text.

No, what I mean is when I get a text it fully opens it in the incoming SMS view where I can either reply or dismiss it. But it takes up the entire screen, this is very annoying. It's not in threaded view, I can't view any other messages from that person until I click reply. I'm almost to the point where I'm going to do a reset and see if maybe something I installed flubbed it up. I just started using the phone yesterday. What good luck I have lol

I love the phone besides that, so much better than my Original Q was that's for sure.

Well I did a hard reset and things were back to normal, I installed the apps I had on it before one at a time and tested it with a text after each to figure out which was causing it. I thought I had found out (CHome Configurator) because it worked up until I installed that. So I did another hard reset without CHome and sure enough it worked. I did something else, and sure enough it stopped working. So I did a 3rd hard reset, same thing happened but I was able fix it by removing Photo Contacts Pro. So PCP is causing the problem, ARGH!

I'm guessing there's something in the registry I can change to fix this, but I don't know what :(
