Windows Messenger (The spammy one)

I'd like to know how to send administrative alerts with the built in messenger so I can easily communicate with some other computers. I have heard there is a GUI for doing this, but google doesn't come up with anything besides how to stop the service. I have tried using a net send command to myself, but nothing pops up. Is this a simple way to send quick messages, or should I use something different? I want something extremely simple that will give me a pretty much direct connection.

The command line says that the message has been sent, but no notification pops up on my computer. Does the firewall actually block the message, or just the pop up?

NET_SEND_COMPUTERNAME_MESSAGE

That is the format, just don't use the scores(lower lines) use spaces.

Now I can't get it to work in XP, GRRRRR. Maybe the built in firewall. I will look around later today and see if I can find a better answer.

Why do you want to do this? Unless you are a sys admin on a network, it sounds to me more like you're a hacker wannabe.

Come on, now. How would this be sign of attempted hacking. For your information, I wanted to use this to send pop-ups to some other computers. One of which is my dad's, another is the one I have upstairs, and I wanted to see if it works outside of the local network.
