Windows Messenger password saving

Sign out, click on "Sign in with another account" put the password in for that account, uncheck the "Save password"

I believe that has worked for me before. If not, then free bump for you (next one will cost ya....😉)

By the way, Windows Messenger is the WinXP version of MSN Messenger. You knew that though.
 
In the registry, you could try deleting IdentityName related to the email address you use for WinMsgr in one of the MessengerService folders (can't remember which one...just do a search). Not completely sure that it will work, tho', I'm going off something I heard somewhere and have never verified myself, so proceed at your own risk.
