Windows memory diagnostic Vs memtest 86

I often see memtest 86 endorsed in this forum

and it seems to be a very comprehensive utility but I have noticed Microsoft also has a free memory tester.

Your thoughts,experience, and comparisons on the two of them please.

I've found WMD to be more sensitive at finding problems due to timing or incompatability than memtest86+. (I've had several NForce2 systems, none of which worked correctly with the RAM I originally bought. Memtest86 would sometimes get through several passes before failing with a dozen errors or so - WMD would always fail the first pass with thousands of errors).
