How can I make windows media player close after the file is through playing? It just sits there when done playing and I have to manually click the X to close it. There has to be some way for it to close when finished playing like active movie play did.

I don't think you have this option in Media player. Even the latest MP8 in XP don't have this feature. It is not in the option, but I don't know whether this setting present inside registry or not.
