windows media player problem

Screenshot. The red area is where videos show. The big black area at the bottom is the problem. I can't get rid of it. It is present in all files. Full screen works properly. Zoom doesn't affect it. I ahve the player in smallest mode (ctrl+3), but full/reduce/minimal doesn't affect it either.

Any ideas? It has been broken for a long time.

How would I just reinstall that version?

do you have the correct codecs? download GSpotGSpot. It will tell you what codec you need.

It happens regardless of the file I play, so I don't think it is related to a missing codec.
