I have a fully updated Macbook and when i go to the Microsoft Office website to do the tutorials I need to download WMP for OSX. When I do there isn't anything on the Mac to install it with. It's an "stlx" file I think(I'm at work).

What do I need to install it? I couldn't find anything readily available.

Yep, sounds like a StuffIt archive. According to some people, there are tons of them, but in the 3 years that I have had my Mac I have come across them maybe half a dozen .sit or .sitx files in the past 3 years.

WMP for OS X hasn't been updated in at least a few years; I think 10.2 was the last version of OS X to be able to open .sitx files "natively" via Stuffit Expander.

Once you get hte files open, if they are .WMV files you can use Flip4Mac to open them in QuickTime, though VLC should be able to open them right up as well.
