Windows Media Player Not Working

I have tried re-installing Windows Media Player (9) numerous times now, and even before this problem started happening........I always get this prompt "An Internal Application Error!!" and then you hit ok and it closes....wtf? Can someone help me out, my buddy is oddly having this same problem right now 🙁 😕
 
what OS?

Have both of you happened to try to watch the same file? or a file from the same source?
Try reinstalling all the codecs with the nime codec pack.

where can i get that?

btw: I have windows XP, and no i dont believe me and my friend have used the same file or source. is there someone on XP i can COMPLETELY delete winmedia, and re-install....
