Well, not just rebooting, it happens everytime... it never opens at all... So rebootin is just out of question.. And yea, ther is no process to begin with.. So i can't end 😀 it's jus like even when i open... i dont get the process in the task manager 😛

PS... i dont exactly need it.. i never use it.. but yet, i jus wanted to resolve the prob.. coz i wanna learn y it happens....

If you wanted to remove WMP in order to reinstall it,use the Turn Windows Features On or Off control panel and deselect Windows Media Player under Windows Features. You should then be able to reinstall it (reboot first) .. note this can also be a driver issue with your sound card.
Also try this: open computer, windows, prefetch and delete the contents that refer to windows media player basically anything beginning with wmp but dont delete any data base files

If that does not work try the utility in this link:

have you tied launching it from the source once you have confirmed it isn't running in task manager.

ProgramFiles\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe
