Windows Media Player Error

First time using 64 edition and I installed some codecs to play my videos. I get a black triangle that goes from the top left part of my monitor to the top right corner of the video to the bottom left. To fix the picture I can just resize the video. I can't figure where this error is occuring. Is there a codec out there for Windows 64? Thanks in advance.
