Windows Media Player and Vista 64 Ultimate

I have come across this several times when closing WMP.

I hear the video still playing, look at processes, and see WMP is still running in processes but not open under the Applications tab.

Anyone else have this oddity?

Has happened to me on Windows 7 64. Maybe related to multiple monitors? Seems to be the only time it happens to me.

I get the same thing in Vista64 Business. I seldom use WMP, so I haven't really looked into it. I just kill it in task manager when it misbehaves. Stop the music/video playback before you close it, and while it'll still be running, it won't be making noise.

It used to happen to me when I had Vista64 Ultimate. But not 64-bit Win7 Pro. And I have a single monitor.

I get the same thing occasionally in W7 x64. ALso happened in Vista. Was never able to sort it out but now I mostly use a different media player.
