Windows Media Player 9 issue

I use WMP 9 for most of my multimedia and it has recently started doing something strange. Every time I launch WMP to listen to .mp3's or watch a video, it puts a folder on the desktop called New Folder (2) - there isn't a New Folder on the desktop. I recently moved my entire .mp3 collection from my D: drive to my C: drive (the old D: was about to die, and did), so I'm assuming this might have something to do with it. This seems like I might have to make some deeper level changes to WMP since I can't find any settings that are causing this within the main options. Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent this? It's not a big deal, just a minor hassle to delete the empty folder every time. Thanks.
