Windows Media Player 8 help needed

You know when you click file and at the bottom it shows some previously played media files? Well the files it's showing down there are old and long since deleted. I would expect them to be replaced when I play new files, but this is not happening. So how in the heck do I get those old files out of there? I can't find any options for deleting them. Thanks in advance for your help.

try opening your "newer" files in a different manner. Instead of just clicking on the files and expecting them to open, in windows media player, do "file / open" and find the new files you wish to open.

This should crush your old files. At least it worked for me.
