Hey everyone,

For the last few months, I've been using my Xbox360 to stream media from my computer. A week ago, I cleaned up the Windows Services following this site:

http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

Everything was a-ok. My computer booted up a LOT faster so I was happy. Just today though, I tried to stream media again to my Xbox360. For some reason, my Xbox doesn't see my computer on the network.

I fired up my Acer notebook and tried sharing with it and it streamed just fine.

I went back to my main computer and changed the services back to default and it's still not working. Would anyone know the specific service I might have disabled that would have affected things like this? The only thing I can fathom is that I wasn't 100% in returning it back to default. I've glanced it over many times and I just can't figure out what I might have missed.

Anyone?

Which method did you choose? There's safe, tweaked and bare bones. It could be something with UPnP or one of the networking services.

What I don't see listed there is any kind of Windows Media Player Network Sharing service, which I'm pretty sure should be there as part of WMP11. Try disabling/reenabling the sharing properties from within WMP11. If that doesn't work you can try reinstalling WMP11, or do a system restore to a point before you changed all the services in the first place.
