Won't work with Win 64bit.

It says:

Windows Media Player Download
Setup detected that you are running: Windows 2003 Server
There is no download available for this operating system. To get Windows Media Player 10, please go to Windows Update and install Windows Server 2003 SP1 or later.

Downloading now to check it out. Looks like it has the exact same interface I'm using on iTunes that someone created - and it is really popular. Stolen?

update

Can't install because I'm not in SP2 and can't install SP2 on this computer as it breaks some vital applications I run. Bah..

Not bad! I like the interface and their great media library in my opinion just got better. Not quite as much useless junk lying around now.

does it still do short lock ups?

Yes, it still does, shortly after startup, I presume because it's searching to update the library. The pause seems shorter now, though.

Sweet, downloading now!

[update]
Installed...I really dig the interface! Very pleasing to the eye.

The only thing I don't like so far (unless I just haven't found the option) is that when you are in the "Library" mode, switch to something else like "Now Playing", and then switch back to the library, it lists the tracks from the top...not from your last position. So you might have to scroll back down, which sucks if it's a long list.

Got it and it installed nicely. It absorbed all my existing WMP10 preferences. It is very responsive, and plays DVD movies well. I like the menu system.

I am now actually using the library in WMP11 (I never did in WMP10) not because of the visual album art but because it is a lot more cleaner and simpler than WMP10.

That's the beautiful thing about a beta. Make sure you give them feedback! I've requested a couple of things on the IE7 beta, and whether or not it was my direct input, it's usually been fixed/changed in the next release.

WMP11 is a definite improvement, everything's much more refined.

It's also very easy to get round the Genuine Advantage check :)

I looked for some sort of feedback link in the help menu (though I didn't look very hard). Know where/how I should be providing feedback?

man, it keeps locking up for a few seconds for me. it's annoying! the strange thing is that i opened up task manager next to it, and it's running only arond 1-2% of the cpu resources.

is it because of my library size? it's around 20gigs. not huge, but sizeable.

specs:
3.2ghz
1gig ram

Does it use less RAM than WMP 10? I'm a nazi when it comes to RAM usage. If it does, does it use less than Jetaudio?

Using 6 MB minimized, 14 MB maximized on library for me.

Anybody else think their music sounds like hell? I know this is a beta but all of my music has a background fuzz. All of my music was ripped by me with at least a 256 kbps bit rate so thats not the problem.
