Windows Media Player 10

I just got my computer fixed after my father system restored it.
Today I tried re-installing WMP but once I got to the finish part (where you begin to install) it takes me back to the original point of the download. (This is Windows Media Player 10 etc..)

I'm on an administrator account. This has never happened before.

What gives?

Why did your father system restore it? Are you certain that SP2 is still installed?

It sounds like there are other issues as play here.

because my computer was all messed up from this hacker on CS.

I'm quite certain I have SP2 because the windows update comes on...but I'll try and reinstall it again.

Wtf?

GAH!

I tried to install SP2 but when I go to microsoft.com and click on download SP2 it takes me through some steps and now it says I need ActiveX control and that IE should be asking me if I want to download it.

But nothing happens.

This must mean I already have SP2 installed....
BUT I DONT KNOW. argh lol.

It's weird. I click on the Windows Media Player 10 icon, it runs me through the pre-install process. agreeing to license agreement etc...the moment I click finish (where it would begin the download) it goes straight back to the first part of the pre-install.

What
The
F**k??

IF I needed sP2, wouldn't it say it?

What the hell!

Start --> My Computer (right-click), select Properties.

The screen that comes up will have listed under "System:" what your OS is and what service pack level it is at.
