I noticed that my computer has both Windows Media Player 10 and Windows Media Player Classic. Do I need WMP Classic since I have WMP 10?

If no, how do I remove WMP classic because it is not in Add/Remove?

Im running WinXP Home SP2.

TIA

Media Player Classic has nothing to do with Windows Media Player 10. It is a totally separate, much more powerful, much less bloated open-source programme with the capability to play Real and Quicktime formats. Plus it's about a meg total.

I would think twice before removing it, and if you're removing ANYTHING it should really be WMP10.

Ah, thats right. Media Player Classic came with Quick Time Alternative.

Thanks. Guess I'll keep it then.

Whats so bad about WMP 10?

It is rather bloated, but other than that it seems like a fine program.

I agree. It is bloated and could use some more customizability (like most microsoft programs) but it has some great features such as the media library, which is better than any other program's I've used, and the taskbar dock is nifty.

I have and use both. MPC is very small, so no reason not to keep it around.
