Windows Media Player 10 Crashing Issue

I recently upgraded to WMP10 and having a major crashing issue with it.

Everything I try to open some mp3, or video files it either crashes or says 'Codec not found.' I tried opening the files with other programs (Winamp) and they work fine. When the WMP crashes and I click on detail to see what cause the crash, it is always either usp10.dll or ntdll.dll.

Any ideas? I tried reinstalling it couple times, going into safemode and try playing something but no good. 🙁

My spec is: shuttle sn41g2, xp 2500+, corsair 512mb ram, ati radeon 9800pro aiw, on-board sound (which I believe it's called nvidia's soundstorm or something). I have latest catalyst and driver for sound.

Edit: nm, I fixed it 🙂 seems installing directx 9.0c did the trick.
