Windows Media formats arent working

Just recently all windows media formats stopped working on my XP machine. Since this has happened i have tried reinstalling WMP11, and windows media format 11 runtime. Is there anything else I can try doing that I haven't done yet?

P.S. I put this here because the way WMP is integrated with windows, its basically an OS problem.
