Hi,

What I am trying to do is watch videos stored from one computer from another.

I have my main desktop in my room with all my videos on it (legal DVD rips) and next to my room I have a projector connected to my laptop (just installed vista onto it). They are both on a wired network. if have tried windows media connect but I cant seem to get it working.

Does anyone know how to get this working or know of a program that can do what I want to do?

Thanks

Just turn on file & printer sharing on the PC with the files, set the movies folder to shared (read-only is probably OK), then make sure both PCs are in the same network workgroup.

On the laptop you can then just use the other PC's shared folder in windows media player or whatever.

Agreed. This will be much easier than trying to use Media Connect.
