Windows Media Center Questions

Thinking about making an HTPC and weighing Media Center vs XP+BeyondTV.

Two questions I have concerning Media Center and it's recording abilities are...

1) Are you able to record from an analog source such as a VCR?

and

2) Are shows encoded in MPEG2; are they able to be burned to DVD?

Thanks to anyone that can clear this up for me.

I don't know about the raw input, but I'm sure it's possible

The recorded shows are in ms-dvr format which is just an mpg in a wrapper. They can be burned to DVD very easily, but as a data file; if you looking for something to just put in a regular DVD player to watch, you'll have to do some conversion and authoring

There's a utility that will convert the ms-dvr file to a mpeg2 file. Check out thegreenbutton.com for more info.
