Windows Media Center,Nero Recode, Subtitle Help

I am recoding dvds to AVC, using nero recode and there standard profile.

The goal is to play them on both the ps3 and a vista media center pc.

I encode at 2.5mb's using 5.1 audio, and subtitle, per standard profile settings.

when i play back the movies in windows media center, some of them show the subtitles all the time, and some dont.

I'd rather not see the subtitle, then have it on always.

The problem is, I encode them all the same way, and some have the subtitles hidden, and some dont.

If I play the movies in WMP, or neroshow time, the subtitles are hidden.

How can I fix ethier Windows media center...

or if worst come to worst, how can I strip the subtitles from the MP4 without recoding the files.

You may be able to use YAMB to remove the subtitles (assuming they're not encoded in the video).

the shouldnt be, since only windows media center shows them on all the time.

wmp doesnt show them.

And in neroshow time I can turn them on and off.

Just an Update.

YAMB worked. I was able to just take the video steam, and audio stream and mix them to a new file, minus the subtitles.

However, I also found another solution.

I use a vista codec pack to play back mp4 files in windows media center. It had an opition to show subtitles. I dont know why sometimes it showed them and sometimes it didnt. But if I unchecked it. It stopped displaying the subtitles...

its a ffdshow front end, so now I have a wide world of new options to control video output. Simply amazing.

nero show time, needs to to learn how to let the video card decode video.

with showtime, I use like 50% cpu power, in medica center it drops to like 10. different codec, ones smarter.
