Windows Media Center Edition 2005

I got ahold of Windows Media Center Edition 2005. I also just bought a Haupauge PVR250MCE card.

Anyone out there currently using Windows Media Center 2005? How do you like it? Any quirks? Do all XP Pro programs run with MCE2005?

I'm using it now and I love it. I don't currently have it running on my hdtv but it is a normal win xp with extra features so it runs all the same software.

Have any type of TV card in your pc? I've heard it should run great with my Haupauge PVR250MCE??

You'll need to get a DVD decoder to watch TV. What are the system specs of the rig you're putting together? You'll want to make sure you have supported hardware, your TV card should work great for you. I recommend the MCE remote as well.

Overall, I think MCE is great. I don't recall any programs that weren't supported, and I use it for my everyday PC use.

I don't use mine for everyday PC tasks -- it's a dedicated PVR/HTPC for me. Works great. I'm really amazed with the stability. It's as mindless as the Tivo it replaced.
